Thank you Tony for those words … they are so true.

Trust and obey, for there is no other way
    To be happy in Jesus,
    But to trust and obey.

Romans 2:8 -10 : ” but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation … tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil … glory and honour and peace to every man who does good”

Why is it so hard to merely trust and obey God? Why are we so easily convinced that our anxiety and worry is the best?

Live and do this, that’s what the Master said. Simple obedience, In order to have LIFE, trust and obey for there is no other way. However, the people did what was right in their own eyes. They were hardened in their ways. My way was their password, which is also the password of today.

Today we insist upon our own way. As the sacrifices were just an outward ritual, so Christ’s sacrifice means nothing for the people today. Each have and are going their own way. They are listening to their own voice and are not in tune with God. Just look at church membersip, the church hopping, the non-committal, the Christian agencies not working together, my way or the high way attitude of the people. Individualism is rampart not community of the body of Christ. Each one is listening to the beat of his own drummer. They are out of tune.

Lord, help me to hear Your voice and be like a Samuel saying, Speak Lord for Your servant is listening. Help me this day to hear and do as I continue to work in Your Kingdom.

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
    This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

think about it!

I am an historian, I am not a believer, but I must confess as a historian that this penniless preacher from Nazareth is irrevocably the very center of history. Jesus Christ is easily the most dominant figure in all history.
