What’s the problem with porn?

Can you believe it? Have you ever heard of such a thing? A church having a “Porn Sunday”? Well, we are! On Sunday, November 25, we are going to tackle head on the issue of pornography and its devastating affects on individuals, marriages, families and society as a whole. If you weren’t sure about this, let me clear this up… We are not in favour of pornography.

xxxchurch.jpgWe will be hearing more about a radical ministry to those involved in and affected by the porn industry, called XXXChurch. We will hear from those who recently attended the “All About Sex” show in Toronto, handing out Bibles and holding conversations with those attending.

x3watch_logo.gifAnd we will learn about X3Watch, a free and easy computer program that allows families and individuals to guard their computers from internet pornography.

So what do you think? What is the problem with pornography

  1. Suzan,
    thanks for sharing.
What a blessing you had that teacher who told you what to do.
You are right, bringing these issues into the light is so important. Those who have been abused have lived in shame for far too long, being silenced only adds to the pain.
God so longs to heal us of these pains….

  2. Hi Norm,
I am wondering how you are after Sunday? Did you have intercessors specifically praying for you and your family during this time?
In our ministry, which deals with all aspects of sexual brokenness, we have to have intercessors committed to praying for us regularly. All the leaders and participants have their own people praying for them and then we have intercessors for the whole group. Satan does not want people to be free from sexual addictions and the spiritual attacks are there for those who attempt to bring Truth into people’s lives in this area.
So the Holy Spirit brought you to mind today and I am praying for you all.
    Jill

  3. I appreciate that Peter, Jeanette & Pastor Norm were so open yesterday regarding pornography. My sister-in-law and my niece asked me to pass on their thanks for the complete honesty and sharing of this addiction. I was sexually molested at the age of 10 at school by a man in his teens or early twenties. We usually think of pedophiles as “dirty old men” but this is not always the case. They never caught this person and to this day I wonder how many other children he went on to molest or sexually abuse. I was fortunate because I was able to get away from him but only because I had a female teacher who had instructed the girls on what to do if this ever happened. I thank God for her. This situation changed who I was and had some very negative affects on my life. I am thankful that we can now speak openly about these issues. Keeping it hidden is very damaging to our sexual being and can manifest in some very disturbing ways.

  4. Thank you, Pastor Norm, Peter & Jeannette, for your courage in speaking out against this rampant evil in our society and in our lives. While your message was probably not well-received by some as a sermon that leaves one “feeling good” and uplifted, for many I’m sure it was a message of hope and forgiveness and love. My only regret is that my own children and teenage grandchildren did not hear this message…this is a scary world in which they are living. May God bless the seeds which were sown today and continue to use Peter and Jeannette in such a powerful way for His glory.
