He has His reasons

Posted on September 11, 2017September 10, 2017 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Mark 15:27-32
“Let this Messiah come down now… that we may see and believe.” (Mark 15:32?)
I have heard people say these very words.
‘Where is this Jesus you believe in, let Him show Himself!’
When our Messiah does not perform as demanded, they refuse to believe.
Like Thomas after the resurrection, ‘Unless I see, I will not believe’.
In this scene, Jesus does not ‘perform’ for a good reason.
He is up to something better, the most important thing He can do.
Jesus is in the process of beating Satan and sin, and setting us free.
If He were to ‘perform’ our way, we would not like the results.
The same is true now, Jesus is still up to something better.
When Jesus seems hidden, or unresponsive, He is not inactive.
Jesus is at work all the time, everywhere, confirming His victory.
He is using me and my life – and everyone else’s – as part of His plan.
He has His reasons when He does not ‘come down’ when we ask Him to.
Better to surrender to His hidden purpose, than have Him meet my demands.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, this is true, but still not easy. Sometimes I really do wish You would do something visible, miraculous. But even if I do not see, yet I will trust in You!

    Yes. He did save others.
    It is by is death and resurrection and ascension that I am saved.
    Jesus showed by His life who He was. He did show and tell those who would hear. But many were hard-hearted like the chief priest and the teachers of the law. He did come down from the cross and still they did not believe. All in God’s timing.
    And today, it is still all in God’s timing. When we pray, we need to be in tune with God and wait upon His timing for He still is busy building His kingdom through His people His wonders to perform.

    God moves in a mysterious way
    His wonders to perform;
    He plants His footsteps in the sea
    And rides upon the storm.

    Deep in unfathomable mines
    Of never failing skill
    He treasures up His bright designs
    And works His sov’reign will.

    Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
    The clouds ye so much dread
    Are big with mercy and shall break
    In blessings on your head.

    Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
    But trust Him for His grace;
    Behind a frowning providence
    He hides a smiling face.

    His purposes will ripen fast,
    Unfolding every hour;
    The bud may have a bitter taste,
    But sweet will be the flow’r.

    Blind unbelief is sure to err
    And scan His work in vain;
    God is His own interpreter,
    And He will make it plain.

think about it!

There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, ‘All right, then, have it your way.’
