The Lord will raise help for His work!

Posted on August 19, 2017August 18, 2017 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Ezra 4-6
“The king of Assyria… assisted them in the work on the house of God.” (Ezra 6:22).
As Jesus followers, we are called to continue Jesus’ temple-work.
Not building a physical temple, but building a people through love and mercy.
Empowered by the Spirit, we extend God’s love, joy, peace into all the world.
Like Jesus, we see hearts won over by His love, and the kingdom grows.
As in this story, we will face times of opposition and setbacks.
But we should also have times where the Lord’s favour raises support.
Even support from those who do not share our faith in Jesus.
I have personally seen this in my last church work.
We received support, even volunteers, for sharing the love of Jesus.
We enjoyed a remarkable partnership with the public school staff and board.
We even received recognition for our volunteer work – for loving our neighbours.
Satan will surely stir up opposition, but Jesus will also raise support.
And as Jesus followers, let’s keep our focus on how Jesus is at work.
He will build His house of prayer, He will establish His kingdom!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, help us keep our hearts focused on You and Your task, even when we face resistance. Thank You for supporting us, even through those who don’t share our faith!

    Working in His kingdom, we will face obstacles, difficulties, opposition. Yet inspite of this the work continues for He provides.
    We are workers in His vineyard. We have a task to do with the gifts received for His service. We need to pray constantly that the Lord God will continue to guide us as we do His will with joy in our hearts. We need to be SpiritLead as His will be done here on earth. We daily need to seek His will so that we are walking in His SonShine and others may see Christ Jesus living in us as we continue to be Kingdom workers.

    My stubborn will at last hath yielded;
    I would be Thine, and Thine alone,
    And this the prayer my lips are bringing,
    “Lord, let in me Thy will be done.”
    Sweet will of God, still fold me closer,
    Till I am wholly lost in Thee;
    Sweet will of God, still fold me closer,
    Till I am wholly lost in Thee.
    2
    I’m tired of sin, footsore and weary,
    The darksome path hath dreary grown,
    But now a light has ris’n to cheer me;
    I find in Thee my Star, my Sun.
    3
    Thy precious will, O conqu’ring Savior,
    Doth now embrace and compass me;
    All discords hushed, my peace a river,
    My soul a prisoned bird set free.
    4
    Shut in with Thee, O Lord, forever,
    My wayward feet no more to roam;
    What pow’r from Thee my soul can sever?
    The center of God’s will my home.

think about it!

Unless we rely on God’s power within us, we will yield to the pressures around us.
