The kingdom is established!

Posted on June 30, 2017July 3, 2017 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: 1 Chronicles 17-19
“His throne will be established forever.” (1 Chronicles 17:13)
When God sees all humans, He sees His much-loved, wayward children.
God sees their sin, their shame, their misery and the their folly… and He loves them.
God’s plan is to restore His children, but He has to work WITH them.
Because God put us in charge, He must also use us to restore His kingdom.
God uses sinful humans (Abraham, Moses, David) to restore His kingdom.
He chooses the little people, invisible in the world’s eyes, to set things right.
God is not rejecting the rest of the world, but uses His chosen to win back the rest.
Ultimately God uses Jesus – the perfect human – to fully restore His kingdom.
Satan is defeated, ‘Adam’ is back in charge, God’s kingdom is established!
Through Jesus – the ultimate son of David – God establishes His kingdom forever!
But there is still work to do, and God still uses humans to finish His work.
As servants of the Son of David, Son of Adam, we join in His kingdom work.
By living ‘like God’ and ‘like Jesus’, we take back our world for God!
By showing and sharing God’s love and mercy, we extend God’s kingdom authority.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for taking back our kingdom from Satan, and for restoring us as children of God. May I live according to this reality, and show the world Your kingdom goodness!

What a privilege to know that one of man’s desires is that one of David’s offspring will build God’s house and walk in His way. For no greater joy does one have than to know that his children also walk in His SonLight.

And when David received this news he went and sat down before the Lord God and talked with Him. This talk empowered him.

This talk put him on the right track.

Not my will but Your will be down.

David recognized the Source of living for Jesus and so must I.

Living for Jesus a life that is true,
    Striving to please Him in all that I do;
    Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free,
This is the pathway of blessing for me.

    O Jesus, Lord and Savior,
    I give myself to Thee,
    For Thou, in Thy [redemption],*
    Didst give Thyself for me;
    I own no other Master,
My heart shall be Thy throne,
My life I give, henceforth to live,
    O Christ, for Thee alone.

I too need to sit gown and talk with my God – daily.

doing what was right and just

think about it!

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.
