Because of Jesus in you!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Luke 1:39-45
“The baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.” (Luke 1:41)
Have you ever tried to help someone experience Jesus?
Seems to me that instead of trying to move people toward Jesus, we just need to bring Jesus to them.
Mary did nothing but show up, and Jesus in her had this impact on Elizabeth and her baby.
We do not need to be impressive or convincing; in fact I think these things get in the way.
Just show up with Jesus grace and love in you, and pray for Him to do what He does best.
Jesus provoked a response in people, even when He was in the womb.
He continues to provoke a response, even when He is in our heart.
A simple testimony, with simple love, and simple prayer – and the Spirit of God through it all.
“I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” (1 Corinthians 2:3-5)
This is how Mary came to Elizabeth too, but God’s power worked through her!
We do not need to be great evangelists to lead people to Jesus.
We just need to be vessels of the great Jesus, and He will draw them to Himself.
Not everyone will respond with faith; Jesus provoked negative responses too.
But don’t feel the pressure to convince or persuade.
Just show up, with Jesus in your heart and prayer on your lips.
You too may see someone leap for joy, filled with the Spirit… because of Jesus in you!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I do want to see this, I do want to experience this. But help me to focus on abiding in You, not in persuading others. I will leave the persuading to You!

    Observations/Application
The joy of the Lord God is my strength.
Many times when signing off on emails I include
    Enjoy this day in joy.
    Why?
The joy of the Lord God is my strength each day anew. I need to recognize and feel His presence each day. As Mary was blessed or happy to be an ‘instrument’ of His peace, as was Elizabeth, so I must be.
The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to us to enable us to know and experience the indwelling presence of God and the power of His kingdom. The Holy Spirit is the way in which God reigns within each of us. The knowing of this is reason for the joy of the Lord.

    Spirit of the living God,
    Fall afresh on me.
Melt me, mold me, fill me, use me.
    Spirit of the living God,
    Fall afresh on me.
