Tell me about it!

Posted on October 21, 2015October 20, 2015 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Mark 5:18-20
“Tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” (Mark 5:19)
He wants to stay with Jesus, but Jesus sends him into a new battle.
To face the people he grew up with, to tell them his story about Jesus.
The important part of his task is the public speaking.
By speaking the truth repeatedly, he is being reinforced in the truth.
He is being armed against the lies, so that they do not come back worse (Matthew 12:43-45)
We are all witnesses to something, to whatever is dominating our thinking.
If we spend most of our time groaning or complaining, we are witnesses to darkness.
But if we use our words to speak the truth, we become witnesses to hope and life.
The voices in our heads want us to focus on them, to take over our lives.
The Voice from Above wants us to focus on Him, to take over our lives.
Which voice will we give voice to, Who or what will we witness to.
According to Jesus, this man was not a messed up man, but a man with a mission.
How about you?
How about using the comment section to tell us…
** how much the Lord has done for you
** how he has had mercy on you
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You are sending me to tell as well. Thank You for giving me hope over against my fears and anxieties, and for keeping me on track when I slip off.

    Observations/Application
Wanting to be with Jesus and traveling with Him – but no. Go home. This man had not been home but was an outcast. Now he could be home and tell all what the Lord God had done for him. Changed forevermore. He became a Jesus follower proclaiming what the Lord God had done in his life.
And this also needs to be true for God’s people everywhere – at home tell the Good News of what the Lord God has done for us/me. Wherever we/I am, I need to tell the story of His presence in my life. Empower me Lord and help me be the light I must be daily.

Go, tell it on the mountain,
    Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain,
    That Jesus Christ is born.

think about it!

While we may not be called to martyr our lives, we must martyr our way of life. We must put our selfish ways to death and march to a different beat. Then the world will see Jesus.
