Look to the dawn!

Posted on September 25, 2015September 19, 2015 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Revelation 17-20
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.” (Revelation 19:11)
John must have had a headache after all these visions.
Without a program, it’s hard to keep straight who is who, and what is what.
Imagine all these visions going through your head.
After a while I lose track of the details and just see the big picture.
But what stands out in my mind is the picture of the rider on the white horse.
Reminds me of the scene in the Lord of the Rings movie ‘The Two Towers’.
The war at Helm’s Deep is at it’s worse, defeat is in the air, but then dawn arrives.
And with it, Gandalf and the armies of Rohan, and the tide of war changes.
Good triumphs over evil, the demons of Saruman are defeated, and the people rejoice.
John has seen the vision, but he is still a prisoner on the Isle of Patmos.
But this vision is intended to inspire, encourage, to not give up.
No matter how dark things get, no matter how wicked the kings and lord of this world may be.
There is one King over all kings, one Lord over all lords.
He is Faithful and True, and He will set things right, and ultimately crush the serpent.
Let this image of the Rider on the White Horse inspire you, when you are feeling crushed.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, it has been a long time since this vision was given. I’m sure I can speak for many many people right now who are saying, ‘come quickly, Lord Jesus!’

    Observations/Application
What is my purpose and to whom do I show allegiance? My main purpose is to serve my King and follow Him. I need to stand firm, rooted in Him, and serve Him always.
Where do I put my hope and trust?
In the sand castles man builds – large empires, great cities, great wealth, commerce, finances, . . . .
My city must be built upon a hill and proclaim the glory of God. Praise Him today and always. My God reigns – always has and always will. Worship Him. Serve Him. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He will judge His people. But at all times He will be their Protector. Live for Jesus today and always and you will live forevermore.
Life in Christ, today and always.
He will empower you/me today and always in all situations.
GodStrong am I in His power.

Our God is an awesome God
    He reigns from heaven above
    With wisdom, power, and love
Our God is an awesome God

think about it!

We don’t serve God to gain His acceptance; we are accepted so we serve God. We don’t follow Him in order to be loved; we are loved so we follow Him.
