Blessed

Posted on April 19, 2015April 19, 2015 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 128
“Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him.” (Psalm 128:1)
God is the centre of all life, all reality.
God made us free to choose, to partner with Him in ruling the world.
But our choices need to be wise, to line up with the way things work.
God’s character, God’s goodness, are written into the very fibre of all reality.
In our sinful broken world, sin has disrupted God’s harmony and peace.
Because of sin, we will always experience some brokenness in this life, until Jesus returns.
But we can start to realign our lives to God’s design by choosing wisely now.
The best way, even in this broken world, to move towards happiness or blessing… is God’s way.
Jesus has shown us what God-like living looks like.
He has shown us that even if it leads to hardship in this life, it will eventually lead to blessing.
Following God may not be easy, but the benefits far outshine following any other way!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I need Your help to make good choices, to respect and obey You as I should. Thank You for Your promise of forgiveness and success, and for showing me that as long as I try, I cannot ultimately fail. Your blessing is on it’s way!

    Norm,

Thank you so much for this very encouraging blog post. My best response to it is to say “Amen!”.

On separate note, I was wondering if you actually created the “Walk This Way” graphic associated with the post. If so, what would I have to do to get permission to reuse the graphic. I will be using it for ministry purposes and not for any profitable venture. I am working with a ministry in Greater New Orleans and I am getting ready to start a preaching series by the same title (“Walk This Way”) and that graphic would be a perfect fit. Please advise.

    Thanks.

think about it!

We don’t serve God to gain His acceptance; we are accepted so we serve God. We don’t follow Him in order to be loved; we are loved so we follow Him.
