An open book exam!

Posted on March 2, 2014February 26, 2014 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 75
The universe, and everything in it, comes from, and depends on, God.
God appointed humans to run it for Him, but sadly we’re not doing so well.
God has given us freedom to live and love and lead… but there will be a final exam.
This final exam will be ‘open book’, when my life story is read before me, and I have to explain it.
In this life, God is near, helping and warning us, comforting and challenging us.
God’s Spirit speaks to every heart, but do we listen (see Romans 2:14-16).
Many people act as if they don’t need God and can live anyway they want, without consequence.
But a day is coming when we will stand before God – He has set the date.
God’s judgment will be fair, no one will be able to say ‘not fair!’ or ‘I didn’t know!’
Know that God is nearby, and that one day we will stand before Him to explain our lives!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
God, one day I will have to explain my life. You are not mean, nor do you expect more than is fair. Thank You for every warning and encouragement along the way. Help me with Your Spirit to prepare for the final exam.

    Observations/Application
The psalmist starts out with songs of praise and stories of His faithfulness.

However the day is coming as promised when God judges the people and all the people quake. It is He who brings down or lifts up. It is only in Christ Jesus that I can continue to praise the Creator of the universe. At all times I must sing of His praises.

This is the day that the Lord has made. I must rejoice and be glad in it. Rejoice for He has made me alive. Alive forevermore.

    Prayer
Help me forevermore to sing Your praises Lord by the encouragement and guidance of Your Spirit who leads me home.

    This is the day(2)
    That the lord has made(2)
    We will rejoice(2)
    And be glad in it(2)
This is the day that the lord has made
We will rejoice and be glad in it…

    Alive alive alive forevermore
    My Jesus is alive
    Alive forevermore
    Alive alive alive forevermore
    My Jesus is alive

    Sing hallelujah, sing hallelujah
    My Jesus is alive forevermore
    Sing hallelujah, sing hallelujah
    My Jesus is alive

think about it!

I have held many things in my hands, and have lost them all; but whatever I have placed in God’s hands, that I still possess.
