1. Observation/Application
   The request of James and John is a part of belonging to a group. Position of importance. Top dog so to speak. Rank. Closest to the leader. Influence. And all of this is part of the world in us today. Fame and power.

   To be a follower means to do the work and Christ will take care of the rest. The two did not know nor understand what lay in store for them, but Jesus did. He would take care of them. He carried them through their ordeals at the end and they are with Him today. Our eyes need to be turned toward home and not the present earthly dwelling. Christ Jesus will take care of us if we but trust and obey and do what is needed each and every day.

   Prayer
   Help me in Your Way Lord.

   1. Be not dismayed whate’er betide,
   God will take care of you;
   beneath his wings of love abide,
   God will take care of you.

   Refrain:
   God will take care of you,
   through every day, o’er all the way;
   he will take care of you,
   God will take care of you.

   2. Through days of toil when heart doth fail,
   God will take care of you;
   when dangers fierce your path assail,
   God will take care of you.
