    Observation:
Isaac took it to the Lord in prayer and the Lord answered.
Hasty decision in selling the birthright for a pot of stew.
The Lord appears to Isaac – a renewal of the covenant. Talking to God and yet . . . he didn’t trust God completely so that his wife ‘became’ his sister for safety reasons.
Isaac was blessed by God and the envy of all in the land and forced to move,
After the Lord reappeared I Isaac built an altar. Even the enemy saw that God was with Isaac.
    The ‘stealing’ of the birthright.
Selecting a wife for Jacob but not from the foreign people and Esau did to displease his parents.
A stone pillow? and Jacob’s ladder and God’s presence.
The trickster was tricked in marriage – blinded?
The house divided and yet God continues to bless Jacob – children and animals.
God tells Jacob to go back and hat He would be with Him. Rachel steals her father’s gods as they leave the land.
The rocks were the witness of their oath – Jacob and Laban and the Lord.

    Applications;
Throughout the trials jacob talked with the Lord and so must I in my daily living. At all times I am in His presence and must see His doings in my life. Where did I see God today? Have I talked to Him along the way. AND have I made memory stones so that I remember all what He has done for me? What do these rocks mean? – An altar? A rock for a pillow? A pile of rocks for a promise? What am I doing so that I will remember all His goodness to me?

Throughout the separation, throughout the hardship, God blessed Jacob. Open my eyes Lord that I also see Your blessings to me each day. I must need count my many blessing as I live in Your presence.

I am walking and talking in the presence of my living God Who guides me along the way.

    Prayer:
Open my eyes and ears Lord so that I may hear and see You always.

    1. God gives His people strength.
If we believe in His way, He’s swift to repay
All those who bear the burden of the day
    God gives His people strength.

    2. God gives His people hope
If we but trust in His word, our prayers are always heard
He warmly welcomes anyone who’s erred.
    God gives His people hope.

    3. God gives His people love
If we but open wide our hearts, He’s sure to do His part
He’s always the first to make a start.
    God gives His people love.

    4. God gives His people peace.
When sorrow fills us to the brim, and courage grows dim
He lays to rest our restlessness in Him.
    God gives His people peace.

think about it!

Our adversary majors in three things: noise, hurry and crowds. If he can keep us engaged in “muchness” and “manyness,” he will rest satisfied.
