Keep the story going!

Reflecting on John 21:24-25

“Jesus did many other things as well.” (John 21:25)

I am intrigued by John’s point about Jesus’s “many other things”.
Think of all the forgotten moments when Jesus blessed people.
Jesus’s whole life, short as it was, was an expression of God’s love.
Humility, grace and compassion were natural to Him, and people felt it.
The ripple effect would have spread far and wide.

Jesus continues to do “many other things” through His followers.
His call to Peter is also His call to all His followers.
‘Feed My sheep, take care of My lambs, follow Me in My mission of love.’
Many have followed Jesus in blessing the world with God’s love.
Like a mustard seed His conspiracy of grace continues to grow.

Reading about what Jesus did should inspire us to keep the story going.
We continue to add to the “many other” deeds of God’s gracious love.
I want to do “many other things” with Jesus, like Jesus, for Jesus.
As long as I am alive, I have the opportunity to add to His story.
And the ripple effect of Jesus’s life, through His followers, will continue!

PRAYER
Lord Jesus, Your mission was to restore God's world with God's love. Inspire and empower me to keep the story going, to add "many other" deeds of love and blessing to Your story.

    I need to be like Jesus unto others. I am working in His garden doing His will, sharing His love, His good news. Make me an instrument ofYour peace, Lord.

    Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    where there is injury, pardon;
    where there is doubt, faith;
    where there is despair, hope;
    where there is darkness, light;
    and where there is sadness, joy.

    O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
    to be consoled as to console;
    to be understood as to understand;
    to be loved as to love.
    For it is in giving that we receive;
    it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
    and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
