PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Numbers 1-2

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“The tent of meeting and the camp of the Levites will set out in the middle of the camps.” (Numbers 2:17)
The nation is laid out like an army, each regiment (tribe) under its standard.
North, south, east and west… and in the middle of it all is the tabernacle.
When the Levites set about to move, all the tribes took their cue to follow.
As the Lord leads from the center, the nation follows in the direction he leads.
This is symbolic, designed to remind the people of who their leader is.
We no longer follow the Lord in a tent, but in another sense we do.
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling (literally ‘tabernacle’) among us.” (John 1:14)
Jesus is described as living in the tent of a body, and he is set in our midst.
He calls us to follow him, and the (twelve) disciples take their cue from him.
The Spirit of God and Jesus now dwells in us (John 14:23), and we follow Jesus.
“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:25)
At Jesus’s prompting, we respond with love, joy, peace, etc., following the Jesus Way.
We are sent into the world like Jesus, following the lead of the Spirit (John 20:21-22).
Pay attention to where and how the Spirit of Jesus leads you today… will you follow?
PRAYER
Lord, prompt me with your Spirit in the way of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. There is no better way to go!
