Anticipating the sunrise!

Posted on April 23, 2023April 22, 2023 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 30

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” (Psalm 30:5)
This is one way of looking at times of weeping and times of rejoicing.
What if we turned it around, how would that make us feel?
“Rejoicing may stay for the night, but weeping comes in the morning.”
One is hopeful, and one is not; one lifts the spirit but the other drags it down.
David is not just being an optimist rather than a pessimist.
These are ways of seeing things that are more wishful thinking than spiritual hope.
David is not just banking on the odds that things will likely get better.
Nor is he just trying to be a ‘positive thinker’ to help him get through this.
His confidence is rooted in what he believes about God, and the goodness of God.
I believe in God, and I believe in goodness and the triumph of goodness over evil.
Jesus is for me my assurance that good will one day triumph over evil.
I see evil and its effects as temporary, while goodness will last forever.
A life lived on the basis of this kind of hope keeps looking and moving forward.
This is how I want to live, to keep looking for the signs of joy on the horizon.
PRAYER
Lord, in dark times help me to scan the horizon for signs of light. Help me to trust that with you, there is always the hope of joy to come!

“For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime;” My heavenly Father is gracious to me and has not yet given up on me – He is faithful. I pray that He may never give up on discipling me – that I too may be angry in the same way when I go the wrong way and take the wrong path. Holy spirit guide to the truth that I may have the Lord’s favour. Thank you Jesus for the connection to the Father son and Holy spirit!

Our Helper, my Helper is the Lord God, my God.
At all times I will sing praises to His name for that gives joy for it reminds me that my Redeemer lives. He enables me to live for Him in the dark times for He is my light and salvation. He is my Help and rejoicing will come when I live with Him forevermore. The Lord my God is my power, my strength. He enables me to have the joy of the Lord my God each day. May I praise Him always and forevermore.

think about it!

Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look at what they can do when they stick together.
