Praise Jesus!!!

Posted on September 25, 2022September 23, 2022 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 150

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Praise (the LORD) for his surpassing greatness.” (Psalm 150:2)
The Psalmist is not just praising God, but YHWH, the covenant God that lives with Israel.
As YHWH was God with Israel, Jesus is ‘God with us’; not in a tent, but in a human body.
“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling (tabernacled) among us.” (John 1:14)
As Jesus followers, Psalm 150 is a call to praise Jesus.
Praise Jesus in his sanctuary (my heart) and in the heavens where he rules.
Praise him for his acts of power – healing, helping, saving – and his surpassing greatness.
Not the greatness of strength and wealth but the greatness of humility and grace.
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant… just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:26-28)
As for how we are to praise Jesus, musical instruments are not his preference.
Jesus is praised when we join him in his greatness by being humble and gracious too.
This praises Jesus and God – when we carry the cross with him, and do what he did!
“Everything that has breath” reminds me that Jesus is for all creation and all people.
I will praise Jesus for his surpassing greatness in humbly, graciously loving all!
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, your great humility and grace are why I praise you! Help me to praise you with more than words and songs; help me to praise you with all my breath, serving with you in the greatness of humility and grace.

Everywhere–Anywhere–with Everything – praise our awesome creator God! Who is also a loving and gracious Father. Yes let me join the ‘universe-big’ chorus of voices singing the praises of God. There is no limit to how or where – let me go beyond the boundaries – let me dance with joy as David did – in praise of the Lord! We can be so inhibited. Standing at precipice of a high mountain cliff or laying on my back looking up – what more to do but be in awe! Praise be to you!! May my life be an anthem of praise!

How else but through a broken heart may Lord Christ enter in.
