A longing for life!

Posted on September 6, 2022August 10, 2022 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Acts 25:13-22

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“About a dead man named Jesus who Paul claimed was alive.” (Acts 25:19)
Some believe that Elvis Presley is still alive (and living as Pastor Bob Joyce).
But most people know that this is not true, it is just a myth.
So how about the many people who believe that Jesus is still alive?
And living in heaven, ruling over all creation, and soon coming again.
When I say it like this, I get why many people laugh.
I am one of those who believe that Jesus is alive, not dead.
I recently reflected on WHY I believe that Jesus is alive.
I want to believe it – I long for hope beyond the grave!
I believe in God – and for God resurrection is possible
I’m convinced by the disciples’ faith – they were willing to die for it!
I’ve met Jesus – he walks with me and talks with me through my daily life.
I believe in life and goodness – and this is what Jesus represents!
You may say that I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.
I hope some day you’ll join us, and the world may be as one!
PRAYER
Lord, it sounds ridiculous, because death is all we know. Yet everything within me longs for the kind of life that you represents and invite us into. May it come to be!

    “Instead, they had some points of dispute with him about their own religion and about a dead man named Jesus who Paul claimed was alive.” Festus didn’t know and didn’t want to handle the case of Paul – that is why he hoped Paul would go back to Jerusalem – “get the ‘monkey’ off his back” – but no Paul went and appealed to Caesar as has the right to do so. But now that King Agrippa and Bernice are here, Festus interests them to listen to Paul’s testimony. What opportunities come Paul’s way! IT is how the HS works. We are given opportunities to testify to the hope we have in Jesus!! Let’s be open to those!

    Disputes about their own religion.
    That still happens this day. The enemy from within separates His people. Divides them.
    I too am at a loss how to stand strong as a follower of Jesus except to rely upon His Word and pray that His Spirit will lead and guide me to stand up for Christ, to stand in His Light and continue to walk in His Way, the Way of life everlasting. Lead me and hide me Lord each day anew in Your Way.

    Lead me, guide me along the way;
    For if You lead me, I cannot stray;
    Lord, let me walk each day with Thee.
    Lead me, O Lord, lead me.

think about it!

He became what we are that He might make us what He is.
