Deep inward blessing!

Posted on April 24, 2022April 23, 2022 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 128

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Yes, this will be the blessing for the one who fears the Lord.” (Psalm 128:4)
This sounds great, but it is rather ideallistic.
Not everyone who loves, honours and obeys God experiences blessing and prosperity.
Not even Jesus experienced this kind of blessing, at least not externally.
But Jesus did experience a deeper, richer blessing along the way.
Through the voice of affirmation from heaven when baptized and transfigured.
Through the food of doing God’s work that nourished his soul.
Through the experience of God’s presence when everyone else abandoned him.
Through the smiles and joy experienced by those he forgave, and healed, and set free.
And through the glory of the resurrection morning and ascending back to God.
I have had moments of this kind of inner blessing, and I long for more of it.
I want it for myself, but I want it for others too – more spiritual children.
May the Lord bless me in this way, and may I bless others in this way.
May more and more people gather at Jesus’s table, savouring this deep blessing.
It won’t take away the external challenges, but it will make following you worth it!
PRAYER
Lord, may your blessing rest on me from above, may I experience your prosperity and peace all the days of my life, and may I live to see many more experiencing it too!

I am blessed – but oh, let my blessings, especially the material and earthly wealth ones – not be a distraction! Rather help me to be obedient – a good steward knowing that all the the Lord has blessed me with is HIS. I pray that I may be faithful in spite of wealth or poverty – that I may be content to live under the umbrella of God’s blessing! Knowing Him is the deepest blessing – no earthly thing can match it!

To be happy, fear God and walk in His ways. walking in His ways means total obedience to His Word. Happiness in not found in physical things but only in the Lord. If you want to be happy, walk with the Lord. Trust Him. Obey Him. Open my eyes Lord so that I may see how you have indeed blessed me to be a blessing to others. Happiness is serving You.

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still
And with all who will trust and obey
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey

think about it!

There is a desire within each of us, in the deep center of ourselves that we call our heart. We were born with it, it is never completely satisfied, and it never dies. We are often unaware of it, but it is always awake…. Our true identity, our reason for being, is to be found in this desire.
