PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: John 14:5-14
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me.” (John 14:10)
I believe in the three-one God, Creator, Word and Spirit (Genesis 1:1-3).
I believe the Word of God was with God, and was God, and became human (John 1:1,14).
Jesus is the incarnate (in-flesh) Word of God, the promised Son of God, Son of Man.
The title ‘Son of God’ is not a divine title, but an Adam title (Luke 3:37).
In this reading, Jesus makes the connection between him and God very clear.
“Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” (John 14:9)
But when he says these things, he is not saying he is divine, but that he is messiah.
He is Adam, the image and likeness of God, God’s representative on earth.
“It is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.” (John 14:10)
God works through him, like he intended through Adam, restoring his Genesis 1 kingdom.
As Son of God, he restores us as sons and daughters of God; and now we work with him.
Trusting in him, the Father will do “greater things” (14:12) through us.
In Jesus we see what God is like; in Jesus we see what we were made to be like.
Jesus is the true way to live the human life; will I trust and follow him?
PRAYER
Lord, you show me what it means to be human. Help me to live in close fellowship with you and God, so that you can do greater things through me as well.
Seeing Jesus is everything: “If you really know me, you will know[a] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” Experiencing the HS working in me, nudging me from time to time, I’m experiencing connections with Jesus – with the Father. How do I have the gall to not listen – but admittedly I do. My will and my actions must still act on what I experience – act on the nudging – act on the thoughts and inspirations as I meditate, as I pray, as I listen. Like Samuel, “speak Lord for your servant is listening” – Lord I want to listen – help me to act – for I want to know you more and more!
