Reflecting his glory!

Posted on May 30, 2021May 29, 2021 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 87

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Glorious things are said of you, city of God.” (Psalm 87:3)
Jerusalem was the center of Israel, where God lived in the temple.
‘God is with us’ became their identity, the heart and hope of their existence.
The city itself gained a reputation, though not always ‘glorious’.
When the people turned away from God, the city slipped in glory.
The same can be said of me as a ‘temple’ where God lives.
As I live in harmony with God and God’s will, there’s something glorious.
But not when other fruit than the fruit of the Spirit marks my life.
The same can be said for the church, the gathering of God’s people.
Sad to say, glorious things are not always spoken about the church.
Jesus helps his family shine with goodness in a dark, messed up world.
Our lives are like mirrors, we reflect the sun as we face towards it.
When we turn away from God and Jesus, the glory fades.
By grace glorious things are said by God about us, through Jesus.
By that same grace Jesus helps us to grow in reflecting his glory!
PRAYER
Lord, your Spirit is gently stirring in me to produce better fruit and to reflect your goodness in this dark world. Help me to live the kind of life that leads people to say glorious things of you.

Through Jesus I’ve become a citizen of the City of God – of Zion – where Jesus is King! Thank you for inducting me into Zion – that I dwell in your presence! Help me to live my calling as a Zion citizen- Lord I know I’m not worthy on my own accord – but only through Jesus I may make this claim. You are the source of living water – all my fountains are in you!

Springs of life showing refreshment, renewal, strength, new beginnings and more are in God alone. He is the wind beneath my wings and in that renewal I live for Him each day. May others see Him in me – living in that renewed power reflecting His light always.

Lord the light of Your love is shining
In the midst of the darkness, shining
Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us
Set us free by the truth You now bring us
    Shine on me
    Shine on me

To me this is about the mountain, and the fountain, about what is said and what is written and about being noticed by God and for God. It is a beautiful passage, so lovely.
