Open heart for miracles!

Posted on March 10, 2021March 9, 2021 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Luke 7:11-17

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her…” (Luke 7:13)
What happen when you see someone suffering, grieving or struggling?
Does your heart go out to them?
Mine does, but many a time I have wished I could do what Jesus did.
I have often felt helpless when with people who struggle.
I can’t heal them, or fix their problem, or raise the dead.
At least not yet… and believe me, I’ve tried.
I just do what I can – pray, encourage or help in practical ways.
On the one hand, this seems so weak.
On the other hand, God uses this sincere heart effort to do His work.
When our heart goes out and we do what we can, we are like Jesus.
God used Jesus’ heart and willingness to heal and to help others.
God may choose to heal someone through us, but that is His decision.
My job is to open my heart, to make myself available, to do what I can.
Who knows, people may praise God because of what He does through you!
PRAYER
Lord, strengthen my love for those in need, and my confidence in you that you can work through my weakness.

“his heart went out to her” – Jesus has deep compassion. He saw what this widow was going through with the loss of her son – and Jesus ‘heart went out to her’ – he responded. What about my heart. I can be cool and indifferent – helping others along the way can be inconvenient – “not now, I’m busy” – like a levite and a priest in the parable of the Good Samaritan – I pass by. O Lord – help me to evaluate with compassion each situation that I come across – lead me to have the same heart that you do – to respond as you enable me!

How do I deal with the misfortunes of others that I see and those I do not see? God gave me a caring heart. Serving in 3rd world countries is one way I share the love of Christ. Serving Him locally and globally. Sharing the love of Christ in words and deeds. And prayerfully go onward that God continues to give me strength ro be like Christ unto them.

    1. Make me a channel of your peace:
    Where there is hatred, let me bring you love;
Where there is injury, your healing pow’r,
And where there’s doubt, true faith in you.

    2. Make me a channel of your peace:
    Where there’s despair in life let me bring hope;
Where there is darkness, – only light,
And where there’s sadness, ever joy.

    3. O Spirit, grant that I may never seek
So much to be consolded as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love with all my soul – .

    4. Make me a channel of your peace.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
In giving to all that we receive,
And in dying that we’re born to eternal life.

think about it!

It is the heart always that sees, before the head can see.
