Time alone with Jesus

Posted on August 13, 2020August 13, 2020 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Mark 4:30-34

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“When he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.” (Mark 4:34)
In my own life I have found this to be true as well.
It is when I spend time alone with Jesus hat He explains things to me.
What I mean is, I find I learn a lot in my devotional time with Jesus.
I take a passage, like this one, and I pray through it with Jesus.
I will ask questions, I will think through possible answers.
The Lord will bring thoughts to mind, or help me to see something in it.
Or He reminds me of a similar situation in my life, or passage in the bible.
As I journal these thoughts with the Lord, things become clear, lights turn on.
My assumption is that this is something everyone can experience.
“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth.” (John 16:13)
The Spirit of Jesus is with us, and is guiding and teaching us.
But time alone with Jesus, and/or with a few others, is prime teaching time.
As you spend time with Jesus today, see what He tells you about this mustard seed.
If you don’t, you may miss out on His explaining everything to you.
PRAYER
Lord, protect me from distractions in my time alone with You. Speak to me, that I may understand what this mustard seed means for me.

My faith grows as I spend more time with Jesus – let my walk be ever closer to Jesus – that I may think – what is it that Jesus would do as I go my way -but even more so in my time alone- when Jesus helps me understand more clearly. HS work in my heart to grow my faith- that I may sprout branches of love and compassion for those around me!

Lord bless the small seed within me because I cannot claim it is much bigger than that. Help make it sprout and grow and not be choked in the weeds. Help us not be discouraged and nurture the seeds that have been planted. Thank you for the way that you do not test us beyond what we can endure.

The seed is planted. It grows. It can not change from what it is until it is planted. And when grown it attracts the birds for its fruit.
I too am planted and rooted in His Word. And I can only really grow producing fruit through the workings of His Spirit within me. By His power, His SonShine can I shine and live for Him attracting others by my ‘fruit’ – the fruit of the Spirit working within me.
Help me daily Lord in my living for Jesus and may others see You in me.

    Spirit of the Living God
    Fall fresh on me
    Spirit of the Living God
    Fall fresh on me
    Melt me mold me
    Fill me use me
    Spirit of the Living God
    Fall fresh on me

think about it!

People love truth when it enlightens, they hate it when it reproves.
