PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Matthew 24:26-31
What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?
“All the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man.” (Matthew 24:30)
Jesus explains that His final coming will be different than His first.
For His first, He was hidden; people spread the word ‘there He is!’ and they went out.
But for His final coming, all eyes will see Him, and no one will be in doubt.
They will see Him as He is, the humble, obedient and righteous Son of Man, Son of God.
Everyone’s response to Him then will reveal their true hearts.
If they are open to His kind of life, love and humility, they will kneel in humility.
If they are closed to His kind of life, love and humility, they will cry out in despair.
Theirs will not be the cries of repentance or regret, but frustration and rejection.
These two responses are best seen in how sinners and religious leaders reacted to Jesus.
Both ‘mourned’ when they saw Jesus; the former in a good way, the latter in a bad way.
Like them, our true hearts will be revealed too… when Jesus appears.
How we respond now to His life, love and humility will shape how we respond then!
Are we choosing to embrace His life, love and humility now… we likely will then too.
Are we rejecting His life, love and humility now… we likely will then too.
PRAYER
Lord, God has chosen to ‘elect’ those whose hearts are humbled, who desire to live and love more like You. When You appear I want to stand with the humbled sinners, not with the self-righteous religious leaders. May my ‘mourning’ be with tears of humility and hope. Help me to start now already.

Lord with the distress of this COVID-19 pandemic, I would like to cry come now Lord but not mine but your will be done. Meantime help me to live as an En Gedi to the many around me who grieve, hopeless, and lost.
I figure I’m only a heartbeat away from that day – when I leave the limits of time and space – and I’m translated to that day when Christ returns. Yes I see the ‘birth pangs’ that indicate that the time is near- but its always been near for me: when my time on earth is up or when Jesus returns – I am ready now. In the meantime – let me busy following Him – and learning how to do so more nearly!
Signs.
How do i read the signs around me? I see the signs of Spring but do I see the signs of God and His coming again?
Jesus is at the door and knocks. Each day anew I need to open my heart and serve Him. God is the there there. I am alive in Him now and will continue to serve Him. He will come again to separate the sheep from the goats. Help me daily Lord to serve You faithfully today in the light of your coming.
