Nothing!

Posted on March 13, 2020March 12, 2020 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Numbers 22-24

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“I have received a command to bless; he has blessed, and I cannot change it.” (Numbers 23:20)
There is huge encouragement in these words, for they apply today as well.
God has blessed us through Jesus, the promised ruler from Jacob (Numbers 24:17).
We are forgiven, we are set free, we are filled with God’s Spirit.
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
There are many things that seem to be against us in this life.
We still sin, we are still tempted, we still suffer, we still die.
The world around us tempts and troubles us throughout our lives.
But like Israel, we are on a journey through a wilderness to a place of rest.
We are led by the fire (Spirit) of God and Jesus, He will bring us home.
Satan tries to discourage and distract us, but he cannot separate us from God’s love.
I find myself forgetting this, and thinking that the negative stuff is greater than God.
I sometimes give in to discouragement, and find myself getting stuck in the wilderness.
I need to remind myself again and again: Nothing can separate me from God’s blessing.
God has blessed, and no one can change it!
PRAYER
Lord, there are many ‘nothings’ that are trying to pry my mind and heart from Your promise. Use this Balaam story to renew my heart and mind, and give me courage to keep on walking with You in hope!

Lord even Your adversaries cannot speak against Your Word. We are Your blessed children and nothing can change that.

If the Lord is on our side who can be against us? But still I have moments of anxiety – as I don’t know how things will turn out – yet when I look back, I see that in spite of myself – the Lord has protected me and enabled me. Balak wanted Balaam to curse the future for Israel – but he could not. Satan wants to mess my up as well – let me stand in the protection of a God who loves me as a Father.

Thank you Lord Jesus for your promise that nothing and no one can snatch us from your hands. Nothing can take back the blessing we received through our Lord Jesus Christ. Not even this COVID-19 pandemic. I trust you are in control and we take the precaution and fight this virus with your presence in our midst and we will overcome.

think about it!

How few there are who have courage enough to own their faults, or resolution enough to mend them.
