What fuels boldness?

Posted on May 20, 2015May 19, 2015 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Acts 9:19-31
“Speaking boldly in the name of the Lord.” (Acts 9:28)
Just trying to imagine this radical change.
The one who persecuted Christians now preaching fearlessly in Jesus’ Name?
I get how the Christians were suspicious of him, I would be too.
There’s no doubt about it, something HUGE has happened in his life.
Jesus followers – not just cultural christians – are motivated by a powerful Jesus experience.
They don’t speak or live boldly for Jesus because they have to… they cannot help it.
Which makes me wonder about my hesitation and lack of boldness.
If I am running out of spiritual gas, maybe I need a refill.
Not try harder, but go back to the Source, to Jesus Himself.
To spend time in spiritual renewal, to retreat and refresh my faith.
The Lord will give me boldness, if I seek Him for it… but I need to seek Him!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, renew my experience of You, like You did Saul, so that I can renew my boldness for You.

think about it!

In essentials unity; in non-essentials freedom; in all things love.
