God knows my heart

Posted on March 6, 2015March 6, 2015 by Norm

I will look at Romans 1:1-2:29 today, and Romans 3:1-4:25 tomorrow.
SCRIPTURE: Romans 1:1-2:29
“God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.” (Romans 2:2)
God is not unfair, mean or extremely picky about our sins and failures.
God knows what is going on in our hearts, the good, the bad and the ugly.
We tend to be harder on other’s sins than our own – but God does not show favouritism.
God sees all signs of sin like we see all signs of cancer – as alarming.
God is patient with us, but He also gives us plenty of warnings about sin.
God knows whether our hearts are open or closed to goodness.
On judgment day, our true natures will be revealed.
Open humble hearts will seek His mercy, but closed hearts will refuse God.
God does not want anyone to perish, but those who refuse His help will end up perishing.
He has done everything needed to help us, but He won’t force closed hearts to accept it.
If we prefer our sinful desires, He will give us over to them in the end… and all their consequences.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You know my heart whether I like it or not. Help me to welcome your diagnosis, and to see sin as the cancer that it is. Create in me a clean heart!

    Observation/Application
    Called to serve was Paul and so am I.
    Prayer for the brothers. I too need to pray for the family of God. We all need to walk in His ‘SonShine’ in the light of His Truth. Choose God’s Way. Seek His Way always. One day we will give an account of our ways.
    Our Word and Deeds must be in His Way. We must be faithful as God is faithful to us.
    True Life is a possibility only through Jesus Christ – living for Jesus is the only Way I can do right so that my words and deeds can be the same – right with God. I am His working in His World for this world belongs to God and so do I. Only through Him do I have His promise of life eternal as He has promised to all who believe.
    Today I live for Jesus and give Him the glory of this beautiful day.

    Faith of our fathers, living still,
    In spite of dungeon, fire and sword;
    O how our hearts beat high with joy
    Whenever we hear that glorious Word!
    Refrain

    Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
    We will be true to thee till death.

    Faith of our fathers, we will strive
    To win all nations unto Thee;
    And through the truth that comes from God,
    We all shall then be truly free.

    Refrain

    Faith of our fathers, we will love
    Both friend and foe in all our strife;
    And preach Thee, too, as love knows how
    By kindly words and virtuous life.

think about it!

What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal.
