Agent(s) of life!

SCRIPTURE: John 5:24-30
“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7)
As part of the creation process, God forms a unique creation: humanity (‘adam’).
Though humans share common ‘material’ (dust, ‘adamah’) foundations, humans receive something more.
Genesis 1:26-28 describes humans as receiving the authority and responsibility over creation.
God has granted to us both the GIFT and the POWER of life.
This LIFE from God is in our hands, the creation depends on how we manage LIFE.
“You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:16-17)
When humans choose the knowledge of ‘good’ and ‘evil’, LIFE is ruined.
Adam brings the power of DEATH into creation, not just physical but in all it’s dimensions.
God raises up a new ‘unique creation’ (Jesus) to reset the creation, to reintroduce LIFE.
The future of the Universe depends on where we stand in relation to this LIFE of God.
He has the authority and responsibility to remove evil and restore good, to defeat DEATH and restore LIFE.
Jesus, as the new Adam, cannot do this on His own.
Even though He is God made human, as Jesus He is emptied of His divine power (Philippians 2:6-7)
Jesus, as the new Adam, is doing for us what we were supposed to do.
Will we join Him, and restore LIFE… or will we continue to feed DEATH?

PRAYER
Lord, You are what I want to be, what I need to be, what I was made to be. Give me Your Spirit of life, that I may bring nurture LIFE in this dying world.
