With love and tears

Posted on January 3, 2022January 2, 2022 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: John 11:28-37

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled… Jesus wept.” (John 11:33,35)
In Jesus, we see God; in Jesus’ tears, we see God’s tears.
Could God or Jesus keep us from dying – technically, yes. (John 11:37)
For some reason God does not just say the word and fix everything.
God does intervene at times, but the goal is more than just fixing our problems.
God is addressing the source of our problems, our sin condition.
Our selfish, sinful hearts have resulted in this broken, messed up world.
God could just ‘fix it’, instead God sets out to ‘fix us’.
In Jesus we see what ruling over and caring for creation looks like.
We see love, justice, compassion, and tears – a true human and God-like response.
With love, and tears, God through Jesus rescues us from sinful, selfish living.
And restores us to be loving leaders and caregivers.
Like Jesus, we need to weep with those who weep, suffer with those who suffer.
And offer ourselves in service to God, and to all, with love and tears.
This is how we are saved – this what we are saved for!
PRAYER
Lord, your tears speak volumes. Thank you for showing me how much you care, for all people. May my tears flow with yours for those who still need to experience your love.

    Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so! “See how he loved him!” It may have been hard on Mary and Martha that Jesus did not come up right away – of course they were worried that Lazarus would die. But Jesus waited – but his compassion and love did not waver. Even now I might be impatient and worried – but Jesus love for me will not waver – even in difficult circumstances. I can say I’ve experienced that. But Jesus showed is love for us in an even greater way by going to the cross and redeeming us from the sin that would condemn us to eternal death! Thank you Jesus for your love. Help me to love others like you do!!

    God is my Help.
    The miracle of raising Lazarus was a sign to all who believe. God will give everlasting life to all who believe in Him. That is what we confess and believe. It is in that power I go forward each day in joy and strength and hope. He lives and because He lives I too can live.

    God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus;
    He came to love, heal and forgive;
    He lived and died to buy my pardon,
    An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!

    Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
    Because He lives, all fear is gone,
    Because I know He holds the future,
    And life is worth the living,
    Just because He lives!

think about it!

In an effort to get the work of the Lord done we often lose contact with the Lord of the work and quite literally wear our people out as well.
