Jesus… life changer!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Luke 19:1-10

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” (Luke 19:5)
Zacchaeus thought he was checking Jesus out; now Jesus takes charge.
In a sense, Jesus steps in to his life uninvited – “I must stay at your house!”
Little did Zacchaeus know that morning how Jesus would turn his life upside down.
I have heard stories about this, testimonies of people like Zacchaeus.
One story was of a fierce LGBTQ advocate doing research on the religious right.
She interviewed a pastor, which turned into an ongoing relationship.
Somehow, she had a dramatic conversion, and is now an advocate for Jesus!
Little did she know that morning how Jesus would turn her life upside down.
Jesus is the main ‘ingredient’ in our evangelism; just talk about Jesus.
When Jesus enters the picture, he can take things in surprising ways.
I once read a book on evangelism that said, ‘just introduce them to Jesus!’
Jesus is real, and he has the knowledge and skill to change peoples lives.
I have no complicated method or technique for evangelism; I just talk about Jesus.
Jesus will find a way to enter that persons heart, and turn their life right-side up!
PRAYER
Lord, help me to have more confidence in You, and not feel it is up to me to change people.

  1. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus – did he want Jesus to see him? I wonder. Did he hide behind the leaves and branches of the tree or was he obvious. No matter, Jesus knew he was there and he saw someone that was seeking – and being with Jesus changed him – his wealth and material possessions that he had got for himself – didn’t matter any more – he was happy to have found Jesus – his priorities changed. I know Jesus changed me to – but I sometimes wonder if I have still reserved too much – that I am fearful of my own limitations and health – do I dare to continue – seeking ways to serve him? I say yes – help me overcome my reservations Lord!

  2. Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus. He got more than he bargained for. The meeting with Jesus was heart changing and life changing. When the King resides in your heart it changes your life and that impacts the community around you. Come into my heart Lord Jesus and may those around me see Jesus through my words and deeds.

Into my heart, into my heart
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus
Come in today, come in to stay
Come into my heart, Lord Jesus
Fairest Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature
O thou of God and man the Son
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor
Thou my soul’s glory, joy and crown
Fair is the sunshine, fairer still the moonlight
And all the twinkling starry host
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer
Than all the angels heaven can boast
Beautiful Savior, Lord of all the nations
Son of God and Son of man
    Glory and honor, praise, adoration
Now and forever more be Thine
Now and forever more be Thine
