What path am I committed to?

Posted on September 5, 2021September 4, 2021 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 101

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“I will be careful to lead a blameless life.” (Psalm 101:2)
In this psalm David commits himself to living a God-like (godly) life.
The key here is his commitment; he is expressing his heart’s desire.
It is not that he lived up to this perfectly, but it is what he aimed for.
What is it that I am seeking, what is the commitment of my heart?
Am I starting each day with a determination to honour God with my life?
We all pursue something… but how many of us pursue the right thing(s)?
“I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” (Proverbs 8:17).
Ultimately, we find what we seek; we get what we want.
If we pursue life with God, we will receive eternal life with God.
But if we pursue life without God, we will receive eternal life without God.
“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, in the end, ‘Thy will be done.’” (C.S.Lewis)
How I am living now in regards to godly living reveals what I want for eternity.
What is it that I am pursuing with my life, what is the commitment of my heart?
PRAYER
Lord, everyday I make choices, but do I consider where these choices lead. Help me first to determine my preferred destination, then take steps that will get me there!

There seems to be 3 steps in this Psalm – 1st – I must watch my own actions, words etc. 2nd – I must not allow evil things to enter my house – harbor wrong thoughts etc., and 3rd – I must act against those who do wrong (not be silent). Lord help me to be consistent in following your ways, to guard against penetration of evil in my life and to be bold to stand up for injustice and against wrong! Guide me HS I pray!

Today is the Lord’s Day as it is everyday. Once again I am able to greet Him saying, Good morning Lord. It is another day to live in His presence and walking in His Sonshine continuing my journey of serving in joy. Pilgrim’s Progress.
May others see Christ Jesus living in me by my words and deeds. I am His and He in mine and His banner over me is love.

1 Come into God’s presence singing
    “Alleluia,
    alleluia,
    alleluia.”

2 Come into God’s presence singing
    “Jesus is Lord,
    Jesus is Lord,
    Jesus is Lord.”

3 Praise the Lord together singing
    “Worthy the Lamb,
    worthy the Lamb,
    worthy the Lamb.”

4 Praise the Lord together singing
    “Glory to God,
    glory to God,
    glory to God.”
