His strength in my weakness!

Posted on June 28, 2020June 28, 2020 by Norm

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: Psalm 39

What do you sense the Lord saying to you in this passage?

“Truly each man at his best exists as but a breath.” (Psalm 39:5)
This psalm expresses David’s struggle as he realizes his flaws and weaknesses.
As we get older, our experience makes this even more real.
Our youthful optimism is replaced by experienced realism.
We start to feel the burden and the struggles more (I am).
Now I am over 50, and I realize so much more my flaws and weaknesses.
I’m not sure if everyone experiences this increasing weakness and struggle.
But for me it is becoming a battle sometimes to keep fighting the good fight.
Will I hang on to the Lord in hope, or do will I give up in defeat?
As a Jesus follower, I can see my life as a part of God’s kingdom purpose.
My burdens and struggles, my diminishing time and strength are not the last word.
Despite my flaws and weakness, God’s grace is sufficient for me!
“’My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.: (2 Corinthians 12:9)
I am tired, I am flawed, I am weak, but “my hope is in the Lord!” (Psalm 39:7)
PRAYER
Lord, in my weakness I need to rely on Your strength. I am but a breath, but with Your breath in me I can keep going!

    Sometimes it seems that God’s hand can be heavy on his children. God disciplines whom He loves – but that discipline can sometimes be tough to take. David weeps and recognizes that God’s hand of punishment is heavy on him and he prays that God would take it away and allow him to be restored. David recognized that it was God and it gave him great anguish – but He also knew God to be merciful and forgiving – so he prays that God would restore him. God restores me through Jesus – but their may be times of struggle and grief – but help me like David not to lose sight of my merciful heavenly Father.

    Each day I live in His presence. He knows me. He is the wind beneath my wings and lifts me up. I need Him every hour. As He breathed the breath of life into Adam so too He breathes the breathe of life in me. I am not my own but belong to Him to serve and praise Him. Draw me close for I need You every hour.

    I need Thee every hour,
    Stay Thou near by;
    Temptations lose their power,
    When Thou art nigh.
    I need Thee, O I need Thee;
    Every hour I need Thee!
    O bless me now, my Savior,
    I come to Thee.

think about it!

You may as well quit reading and hearing the Word of God, and give it to the devil, if you do not desire to live according to it.
