update from Tim

Posted on August 1, 2009November 8, 2023 by Norm

Our son Tim is working with Life Challenge in Juarez, Mexico

Hola, just a quick update on how things are going down here in Juarez, Mexico.

These past 2 weeks have been interesting in dealing with a specific situation. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a married couple who are 18 and 19 years old, the girl Carolina already has 3 kids with 3 different men. They come here looking for food because neither can get work because their parents wont give them their papers. Right now we are dealing with how we can help them get on their feet but also not only give them the food that will make them hungry again but the spiritual food that will fill them for life.

We also just finished building a house for a family who’s mother has cancer and daughter has special needs. We took them out of a pallet house and built them a 24 by 24 house which for Mexico is a BIG house.

In the past couple weeks we have already started a VBS for the younger kids in the community. It is nice to see how these kids are easy to please and do not need to be entertained every second.
This past week the staff went to Hueco Tanks which is a mountain in the middle of the desert that has a lake at the middle of it from collecting rain water. It was really fun climbing all over the mountains but also looking at the historical pieces from the tribes that lived in the mountains.

I’ve also been offered a job at a United Methodist church starting up a youth program. It is in New Mexico but I see it as an amazing opportunity to reach out to Hispanic youth.

So pray for all of us down here and all the programs that are going on here. Also if you could pray for me as I am deciding what to do about this job opportunity in New Mexico.

Thank you for your prayers and God Bless

Tim

    Hi Tim

Good to hear from you and letting us know what you are doing.
You sure have your challenges but also it sounds very rewarding. I pray that the Lord will continue to bless you and watch over you as you do the work in Juarez.
Tim as you now have another decision to make, we pray that
God will be very near to you and that you will be able
to really know clearly what Gods desire is for your life, do you accept the job opportunity in New Mexico or not.
May God bless you all as you continue to serve.

    Love from the Feddema’s, Goodwood

    Tim
Thank you so much for writing to us and letting us know what you are currently doing … somehow it is richer sounding from you than getting it secondhand.

We will continue to be in prayer for you and the whole staff at Life Challenge in Juarez. The Lord will continue to bless the work that you are doing and the people you are serving. If you continue to open yourself to God, He will speak loud and clear to you… sometimes it just takes time to hear His “still, small voice”

    Blessings to you,
Love the Wielinga family, Port Perry
