todo poderoso

Posted on July 31, 2009March 31, 2017 by Norm

Its amazing how a song that I learned while in Mexico can still touch me deeply as I hear it.
I do remember what some of the lines mean – its a great song!
But the impact comes more from the memories associated with it, as we spent a week in Juarez, Mexico, and saw God at work in, around and through us.
Maybe part of it is because our son Tim is still living and serving there – one of the ways God moved that week when we were there in April 08.
Won’t mean as much to you, but enjoy!
I’ve added the English translation below the video.

“You Alone are God Almighty”
There’s only one reason for all my praise:
My Jesus, it’s you.
There’s only one motive for why I live:
It is you, my Lord. (Or…. My Savior, it’s you.)

My only truth is found in you
You’re my salvation, and you are my light.
I love you Lord, with all my heart,
And forever I’ll give you my praise…

You alone are God Almighty
You are great and full of majesty
Full of power, full of glory,
And no other compares to you.

Thank you Norm for leading us in worship and memory in this song … I sing it in praise to God who binds us together as brothers and sisters in Christ both here in Canada and in Mexico.

It is amazing how a song can connect us to our brothers and sisters in Christ and to bring remembrance to pray and to open our hearts to God in leading us to be faithful to their needs as well.

Lord, continue your good work in keeping us together as brothers and sisters in Christ – help us to take time to pray for one another and continue to move us into action to lend our support as we work together.

think about it!

Community… is the place where our limitations and our egoism are revealed to us. When we begin to live full-time with others, we discover our poverty and our weakness, our inability to get on with people, our mental and emotional blocks, our seemingly insatiable desires, our frustrations and jealousies, our hatred and our wish to destroy.
