May the Spirit convince you!

Posted on August 28, 2019August 27, 2019 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Mark 8:27-30
“‘Who do you say I am?’ Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah.’” (Mark 8:29)
God had promised for centuries that a Messiah (Lord , Saviour) would come.
I can say that for myself, Jesus is my Lord and Saviour.
He is my constant Friend, Guide, Leader, Helper, in very real, very practical ways.
For myself, this is so real, yet I meet people – even Christians – who don’t find this.
I try to explain it to them, so they can rely on Jesus through their struggles.
But they look at me funny, or say ‘it’ doesn’t work for them, or smile and say little.
It is dawning on me again that I cannot say it for others, only for myself.
And just as Peter’s response was based on his experience…
And my response is based on my experience…
I have to pray that Jesus would give these others an experience of Himself.
Until God reveals Jesus to their heart, I cannot do it.
I thank the Lord that He has revealed Himself to me.
As a Jesus follower, it is not my job to convince you… only to confess to you.
To answer Jesus’ question for myself, and pray that His Spirit will convince them.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I want others to know You as Friend, Guide, Leader and Helper in very real, personal way. May Your Spirit convince others through me.

    Who is Jesus for you?
He was widely recognized in Israel as a mighty man and Peter like always was quick to respond that Jesus was the Christ. It was through God that he was able to say this. He saw with his eyes and had heard with his ears. However, he and the rest of His followers were tested as we see their lives unfold by Jesus death on the cross for our salvation, denying that they were His followers by scattering when He was arrested, by verbally denying Him, by not remembering His words of life.
All of His followers must also come with the words off Thomas, ‘My Lord and my God’ even though we experience hardships and trials in this life . Believe and I shall live today and forevermore. And by faith with God as my side I can live my life for Jesus who is my Lord and Saviour.

    Alive, alive, alive forevermore
my Jesus is alive, alive forevermore
    Alive, alive, alive forevermore
    my Jesus is alive
    Sing hallelujah, sing hallelujah
    my Jesus is alive forevermore
    Sing hallelujah, sing hallelujah
my Jesus is alive for evermore

think about it!

Its not so much a matter of what we believe, but really who we believe in, how we believe, and who we believe with.
