One day I will see clearly!

Posted on August 27, 2019August 23, 2019 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Mark 8:22-26
“Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes.” (Mark 8:25)
Curious, why did this healing need to be a two stage process?
We can only guess; my guess is that there was a reason unique to this man.
We also know that similar things happen today.
Some people are healed immediately, some receive healing over time.
Every miracle of Jesus is unique, not predictable.
God designs His help in a way that will reach the soul of every person.
There are also times when, for a purpose, God will wait, or even say no.
“Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take my thorn away. He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness.’” (2 Corinthians 12:8-9)
God sent Jesus to show us how far He will go to restore us, help us, heal us.
God sent Jesus to save us from the curse of sin and death!
Suffering isn’t done yet but it is defeated; one day healing will be complete.
We do not see things clearly or have full healing yet… but He’s not done!
“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, there are still things that are fuzzy to me. Your healing miracle in me is not complete. But what I see now is enough to make me eager to see the rest

    A miracle in stages.
The healing happened outside of town due to the unbelief in the town? The blind man was led outside the town – stage one.
The spittle and mud – stage town. Some sight/insight. Just as His disciples then and also town for His followers. We see through a glass darkly. The disciples had been with Jesus for some time and Jesus also asked them – do you still not understand? Remember the two men walking home after Jesus was crucified? And I, after years of hearing His Word, where am I in the journey of faith/believe?
The laying on of hands – stage three. Complete vision – being able to see. All His followers will also have that vision once we live with Him eternally in the life to come. What a wonderful day that will be when we will truly see – a vast difference from my limited vision today.

Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
    I want to see You
    I want to see You

To see You high and lifted up
Shinin’ in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy

think about it!

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand.
