THE STORY OF JESUS: Revelation 4-5
“The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.” (Revelation 5:5)
Jesus is the Lion King Who has triumphed over Satan, sin and death.
“I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne.” (Revelation 5:6)
But the Lion is a Lamb, the victory comes through humility, suffering and sacrifice.
This is what sets the message of Jesus apart from every religious or political belief.
Triumph does not come through use of force, bigger and better weapons or self-assertion.
That is the problem in our world, everyone playing ‘king of the hill’.
The solution is not more of the same; evil cannot be overcome by more evil.
This is why Jesus is honoured as King because He refuses to play the power game.
Jesus’ followers need to learn this lesson; we do not establish God’s kingdom with power.
“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.” (Zechariah 4:6)
And the way of the Spirit is “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness etc.” (Galatians 45:22-23)
According to this vision, our world will descend into a maelstrom of violence and misery.
But through it all, the Lion Lamb King and His servant followers, will reign through humility.
And the Lamb (and His sheep) will rise up, the Lion and His cubs!

PRAYER
Lord, You are the Lion King, the Lamb that was slain. It is my honour to serve with You, and to humbly bring about God’s kingdom of love. I lay my crown at Your feet and say, ‘You are worthy!!!!’
