Motivated by the good news!

Posted on January 12, 2019January 11, 2019 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: 1 Corinthians 14-16
“Christ died for our sins…, was buried, was raised…” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
This good news cannot be understood apart from the Big Story of Creation.
God creates everything and places His Kingdom under God-like Humans.
God-like Humans are deceived, and bring sin and death into God’s kingdom.
Jesus is the promised God-like Human (Genesis 3:15) who crushes the Serpent.
He resists the devil, dies the sinners death, and comes back to life.
Humanity is saved from sin and death, God’s Creation Kingdom is restored.
Jesus will reign (as Adam) until the last Enemy is eliminated – death.
This is good news for me, and you, but also for all people, and all creation.
We can know our partnership with Jesus as His disciples will succeed.
With His help we work to live God-like lives, trusting Jesus and the Spirit.
And God uses our labour to spread the good news, and rebuild the kingdom.
Satan may squirm and resist, but Jesus has won, and we will win with Him!
“Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (1 Corinthians 15:58)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, boost my spirit with this news. Remind me again today that You are alive, and that my labour is not in vain!

    His Story is His birth, His ministry of earth, His death, His resurrection, His ascension and His reign with the Father. And because He lives I too live. Alive in Christ. Therefor I am able to serve Him with with the gifts given to me. A Kingdom builder I am doing what the Lord God desires me to do in His power. Lead on oh King eternal.

    Lead on, O King eternal,
    the day of march has come;
    henceforth in fields of conquest
    your tents will be our home.
    Through days of preparation
    your grace has made us strong;
    and now, O King eternal,
    we lift our battle song.

think about it!

The poet only asks to get his head into the heavens. It is the logician who seeks to get the heavens into his head. And it is his head that splits…
