A spiritual boost!

Posted on October 29, 2018October 31, 2018 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: John 15:1-8
“Remain in me, as I also remain in you.” (John 15:4)
To remain in Jesus means to ‘be at home in’ Him.
Be WITH Him, even as He is with us, everywhere and always.
As we maintain this experiential fellowship, we are changed.
We sense His still small Voice within, teaching, rebuking, correcting, training.
We experience His wisdom, His strength, His love, His support.
Equipping us for every good work (the good fruit).
This inward spiritual help is not just imaginary, it is real.
It is a sense, a feeling, a boost of motivational energy.
Like a dead car battery being connected to a live battery – borrowed power.
God, Jesus and the Spirit in me, boosting me with spiritual resources.
There are times when I drift away and try to work in my own strength.
Thankfully when I drift, He is still ‘at home in me’, gently drawing me back.
Gently reminding me, “Apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)
This is where following Jesus begins, learning to live LIKE and FOR Him!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, when I stay close to You, I feel the difference. And when I drift, I also feel the difference. I prefer to stay close, it is much more satisfying.

The vine must bear fruit for that is its purpose. The vinedresser prunes the non bearing branches for the vine to grow and produce the good fruit. There is no fruit apart from Jesus Christ. In Him we have life and apart from Him we are dead. We either produce good fruit or no fruit. Abide in Him and He will abide in you. In this way we are able to produce good fruit . . .

The fruit of the spirit’s not a coconut
The fruit of the spirit’s not a coconut
If you want to be a coconut
You might as well hear it
You can’t be a fruit of the spirit

    Cause the fruit is
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control

The fruit of the spirit’s not a banana

think about it!

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.
