Jesus is missing!?!

Posted on August 7, 2018August 7, 2018 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: John 6:16-24
“Neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they went in search of Jesus.” (John 6:24)
The crowds were not searching for the disciples, but for Jesus.
Jesus is the one that God sends, and that people need.
The disciples were with Jesus, and they were OK.
But the people wanted Jesus, He was the remarkable one.
A church is a gathering of disciples, who gather around Jesus.
Jesus says He is present when two or more disciples gather (Matthew 18:20)
Paul says Jesus is present when disciples assemble (1 Corinthians 5:4)
Some will repent when they sense God’s presence (1 Corinthians 14:24-25).
But when people come to a gathering, do they find Jesus?
Many are leaving church today; is it possible they’re not finding Jesus?
People do not want religious symbols and forms, they want and need Jesus.
People do not want theology or judgment or religious squabbles.
People want to sense the love, joy, peace, grace and mercy of Jesus.
Do you come to church seeking Jesus, and are you finding Him there?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, we do a lot of things when we meet together, but they mean nothing without You. Help me to be honest, do I really sense You when we gather together?

    All alone?
    Never!
It was dark and Jesus was not with them. In the rough waters they did not have Jesus with them. But He was with them and they didin’t realize it. He calmed their fear and the waters calmed and they came to their destination.
Jesus is with His people at all times, even in our darkest hours, our storms of life. He never leaves nor forsakes but always drives away the fear.
Walk with Him placing your small hand into His bi hand.
    That’s comfort.
    I am never alone!

    My Jesus, My Saviour,
Lord there is no one like you,
All of my days, I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love.
    My comfort, my shelter,
    Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
    Never cease to worship You.
    Chorus:
Shout to the Lord, all the earth let us sing,
Power and majesty, praise to the King!
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar,
At the sound of your name!
I sing for joy at the work of your hands,
Forever I’ll love you, forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
    Repeat verse
    My Jesus, my Saviour,
Lord, there is none like You
All of my days, I want to praise,
The wonders of your mighty love
    My comfort, my shelter,
    Tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am
    Never cease to worship You

think about it!

The radical of one century is the conservative of the next. The radical invents the views. When he has worn them out, the conservative adopts them.
