The God that multiplies!

Posted on August 6, 2018August 6, 2018 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: John 6:1-15
“Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them…” (John 6:11)
So many people, so many needs, so few resources.
I can certainly relate to this.
In ministry we are always facing too few resources and too many needs.
Yet we serve the One Who has come to deal with these concerns.
I can’t explain how the loaves and fish were multiplied.
But there is an explanation… God!
We need to shift our focus from our smallness to God’s greatness.
We never have enough on our own, but God is more than enough for us!
Notice that Jesus doesn’t complain about inadequate resources.
He thanks God for what He received, trusting that it will do!
We can do the same, God will use what we have, no matter how small.
Our problem is not lack of God, our problem is lack of confidence in God.
As you see all the needs and challenges, thank God for what you’ve got.
No matter how small it seems, with God it will be enough.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, we do not stand alone. If God is for us, who can be against us. Help us to serve with faith, knowing that God will multiply the resources for us when and how He sees best.

    The people were ‘hungry’ to not only hear the Word but also to see the Word in action. And Jesus, the bread of life, gave them His fill. With the limited resources, the miracle man made it good and blessed the people. As God fed the Israelites in the desert with manna, He fed the people with the bread and fishes and He continues to feed His people forevermore since He is the Bread of Heaven. All what I have i His and His gifts need to be used in His service. In His power my resources are gifts from Him to be used serving others.
    Help me Lord to be a blessing.

    Guide me, O Thou great *Jehovah, [*Redeemer]
    Pilgrim through this barren land;
    I am weak, but Thou art mighty,
    Hold me with Thy pow’rful hand.
    Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven,
    Feed me till I want no more;
    Feed me till I want no more.

think about it!

You may as well quit reading and hearing the Word of God, and give it to the devil, if you do not desire to live according to it.
