What path am I committed to?

Posted on May 27, 2018May 27, 2018 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Psalm 101
“I will be careful to lead a blameless life.” (Psalm 101:2)
In this psalm David commits himself to living a God-like (godly) life.
The key here is his commitment; he is expressing his heart’s desire.
Its not that he lived up to this perfectly, but it is what he aims for.
What is it that I am seeking, what is the commitment of my heart?
Am I starting each day with a determination to honour God with my life?
We all pursue something… but how many of us pursue the right thing(s)?
“I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” (Proverbs 8:17).
Ultimately, we find what we seek; we get what we want.
If we pursue life with God, we will receive eternal life with God.
But if we pursue life without God, we will receive eternal life without God.
“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, in the end, ‘Thy will be done.'” (C.S.Lewis)
How I am living now in regards to godly living reveals what I want for eternity.
What is it that I am pursuing with my life, what is the commitment of my heart?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, everyday I make choices, but do I consider where these choices lead. Help me first to determine my preferred destination, then take steps that will get me there!

    Choices.
    I will . . . .
    stand up for Jesus.
    I need to be prepared at all times to give an answer
    that my Jesus is Lord.
    I need to be a person of integrity
    being faithful in service to my Master.
    I need to keep my eyes on Jesus.

    O soul, are you weary and troubled?
    No light in the darkness you see?
    There’s light for a look at the Savior,
    And life more abundant and free.
    Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
    Look full in His wonderful face,
    And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
    In the light of His glory and grace.
    2
    Through death into life everlasting
    He passed, and we follow Him there;
    O’er us sin no more hath dominion
    For more than conqu’rors we are!
    3
    His Word shall not fail you, He promised;
    Believe Him and all will be well;
    Then go to a world that is dying,
    His perfect salvation to tell!

think about it!

How few there are who have courage enough to own their faults, or resolution enough to mend them.
