Quiet, humble proof!

Posted on June 6, 2018June 5, 2018 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Luke 23:8-12
“Jesus gave him no answer.” (Luke 23:9)
Jesus just stood there quietly, looking like a fool.
Herod wanted a sign, Jesus gave him nothing.
In the end Herod only saw a buffoon, a meek helpless mute.
Jesus does not come across like a worldly leader or celebrity.
He does not draw attention to Himself, and avoided the spotlight when He could.
People were always demanding proof or signs to back Him up.
He did not do miracles on demand, only when they had a good purpose.
People still demand proof and signs that Jesus is Lord.
‘Why doesn’t He make evil stop, why doesn’t He show Himself?’
‘Why doesn’t He speak to me, or help me when I need Him?’
“Jews demand signs, Greeks look for wisdom; we preach Christ crucified.” (1 Corinthians 1:22)
Our job is not to prove with words or miracles, but to follow Jesus to the cross.
Jesus humble, sacrificial love, this is the sign that proves His greatness!
To love, serve, bless, forgive, share, care etc. is the quiet proof of God!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, many times I have heard people ridicule You, or faith in You. Help me not to try to fight and prove You. Help me to be like You, proving God’s message with quiet, humble love.

    I want to see Jesus.
I want to see His presence by a sign.
I want Him to answer my questions.
    Jesus on my terms.
And when He doesn’t answer, then why believe? Why take Him seriously? He is not real. He is of no importance. I am.
How important is the ruler of the world? That is is claim and reality. He is King!
And as King do I serve Him?
I need to be loyal to serve, to live, to do. God on my terms? Impossible.
I was created to be His, an instrument of His peace.
    Obedient.
    Submissive.
    Serving.
    Doing His will.
    Living for Jesus..

From the dust of the earth
    my God created man-
    His breath made man a living soul;
And God so loved the world
    He gave His only Son,
and that is why I love Him so!

    My hands were made
    to help my neighbor,
    my eyes were made
    to read God’s word.
    My feet were made
    to walk in His footsteps,
my body is the temple of the Lord.

I was created in His likeness
    created in His image
for I as born to serve the Lord
    And I cannot deny Him
I will always walk beside Him
for I was born to serve the Lord.

think about it!

In the practice of the presence of God we call Our Father to mind at every possible moment. At every opportunity, we focus our attention on Him and silently say, “Thank You, Father” throughout each day.
