THE STORY OF JESUS: Job 18-21
“I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.” (Job 19:25)
These are powerful words, especially coming from Job.
They are also made famous through Handel’s Messiah.
When you think of the desperation and misery Job was going through.
This expresses the deep cry and yearning His heart.
What does your heart yearn for, deeply?
I spoke with a man this week who yearns deeply for Jesus.
He is a widower, he is retired and lonely without his wife.
He speaks with emotion about when he will see Jesus.
I wonder if this happens more when you are suffering?
One day I will see Jesus, alive, on earth, with my own eyes.
Then everything will be clear, made new, put right.
The mess and the misery will be gone, forever!
No more suffering, no more tears, no more injustice or despair.
“How my heart yearns within me!” (Job 19:27)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, may this day come quickly, especially for those who are in deep despair.

I too have a deep yearning, not only to see Jesus but to really know Him and the beauty of His unique 3 in 1ness. I yearn to be in relationship with Him each and every day. We were created with this “innate yearning”. We are wired to be in relationship with our Redeemer. Does that make sense? Every human being was created by God, for God………that is our Purpose! God loves us so much that he uniquely wired us with this “built-in” yearning for Him! What amazing Love!
Satan just loves to see our world spin out of control with confusion and “distractedness”. In a society that does not know their True purpose, their yearnings are for things of the world…….. pleasures, riches, power, and success. But Satan will not have the last say! ……..that is the day Jesus will come and make everything as it should be. “Every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord”! (and if someone could tell me where this is from, I’d sure appreciate it since I’ve been looking through the bible, scouring the Psalms, and the concordance. I know it’s in a song, but can’t remember the name, and can’t remember the passage it’s taken from!)

and crush me with words?”
Words.
How words spoken have such a great effect upon us.
Romans tells us as far as it depends upon me,
to live at peace with one another.
Be an encourager.
Speak words of healing, peace
rather than words that destroy.
This is only a possibility when we have Christ Jesus in our hearts.
I know that my Redeemer lives
and it is by His power and guidance
I can be His instrument of peace.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
