More like good king Jesus!

Posted on November 5, 2017November 4, 2017 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Psalm 72
“Endow the king with your justice, O God, with your righteousness. (Psalm 72:1)
Imagine the perfect government, led by the perfect leader.
Always striking the right balance between justice and mercy.
Leading with integrity, honesty, morality and fairness for all.
David is praying that he will be this kind of leader.
I believe that this kingdom is real, and possible, and coming.
As Jesus followers, we believe that Jesus is this good king!
Jesus has beaten Satan, and reclaimed the throne for Adam.
Now we must choose, like David, to be a Jesus kind of leader.
To lead with integrity in our homes, workplaces, schools, communities.
To be kind, fair, patient, peaceful, moral, honourable.
Jesus is in charge, His Spirit is with us, He will help us.
But we must desire it, pray for it and pursue it, like David did.
Today as I go about my business, I can work torwards this kingdom vision.
Will I choose to be fair, kind, honourable, etc. in my part of God’s kingdom?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, may Your kingdom come, may Your will be done, in my life as it is in heaven. Bless me, that Your blessing may flow through me!

    This Psalm describes what we desire in a leader. We all need to pray for our leaders who rule with righteousness and justice.
    And we should desire the qualities we desire in our leaders also in ourselves. To change others we need to be living examples – the change starts with us. We need/I need to treat others as I would like to be treated and loving the Lord God with heart soul and mind.

    All for Jesus, all for Jesus!
    All my being’s ransomed pow’rs:
    All my thoughts and words and doings,
    All my days and all my hours.
    Refrain 1:
    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    All my days and all my hours;
    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    All my days and all my hours.
    Let my hands perform His bidding,
    Let my feet run in His ways;
    Let my eyes see Jesus only,
    Let my lips speak forth His praise.
    Refrain 2:
    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    Let my lips speak forth His praise;
    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    Let my lips speak forth His praise.
    Since my eyes were fixed on Jesus,
    I’ve lost sight of all beside;
    So enchained my spirit’s vision,
    Looking at the Crucified.
    Refrain 3:
    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    Looking at the Crucified;
    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    Looking at the Crucified.
    Oh, what wonder! How amazing!
    Jesus, glorious King of kings,
    Deigns to call me His beloved,
    Lets me rest beneath His wings.
    Refrain 4:
    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    Resting now beneath His wings;
    All for Jesus! All for Jesus!
    Resting now beneath His wings.

think about it!

Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.
