Good workers?

THE STORY OF JESUS: Matthew 24:45-51
“It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.” (Matthew 24:46)
What happens at your work when the boss is away (or your class when the teacher leaves)?
How do people behave when the police are not around?
This is why our world is such a mess… we think God is not around.
Jesus reminds us how God set up His kingdom in Genesis 1; He has put us in charge!
We were made to walk with God, to live like God, and to lead for God!
Instead we have become selfish, violent and immoral, and the ‘office’ is out of control.
According to Jesus, the boss is coming back one day, unexpected, and what will He find me doing?
What would you do to an employee who was ruining your business in your absence – terminate them?
As Jesus followers, we have come to understand how wrong it is to be this way.
Jesus has reminded us graphically how merciful and just our master is.
He lived the faithful servants life, He revealed the master’s merciful love.
And He has restored us to be God’s servants, to live with, like and for God again in the world.
How are you living your life, how are you using your opportunities, who or what are you living for?
Will the master find you doing His work when we unexpectedly walks into your office?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for giving me my job back as God’s child. Help me to see that everyday I am on the job for You, and one day You will come to see the work I am doing!
