THE STORY OF JESUS: Psalm 2
“I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.” (Psalm 2:6)
As a Jesus follower, I believe that Jesus is Lord over all creation.
He has been put in charge, after beating sin, Satan, death and hell.
And yet many people would laugh at this.
People continue to live as they please, leaders rule with disregard for God or people.
It still looks like humans, under Satan’s deception, are running this world.
Where do we see signs of Jesus rule?
I can’t prove it, nor can I make anyone see it, but there are many signs of His rule.
Jesus does not rule like a human, with force or pressure or pomp or political maneuvering.
He rules like God, with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…
He is overcoming the darkness with light, He is challenging evil with good.
He is working behind the scenes in humble loving people all over the world.
Every act of kindness, every sacrifice of love, every demonstration of grace… is Jesus!
There is an undercurrent of goodness, justice, freedom, hope that refuses to die.
Every time the darkness rises, its foundation is eroded by God’s grace.
Jesus is King, whether we like it, admit it or not.
Good will triumph in/through Him, whether we welcome it or not.
Either we will join in with its gradual rise… or be swept away by its current.
As a Jesus follower, I choose to keep my eyes on Jesus and His coming kingdom, and to join Him in it!

PRAYER
Lord, You are King. You are working towards justice, goodness, peace, love. I have a choice, whether I will join You or resist You. I choose to serve You and celebrate Your rule!
