He reigns forever!

Posted on August 16, 2015July 15, 2015 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 145
“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations.” (Psalm 145:13)
God has always been in charge of the Universe, and always will be.
When Adam and Eve were made rulers in creation, God did not lose control Himself.
When Adam and Eve surrendered control to Satan, God did not lose control to Satan.
Yes, God has allowed Adam and Eve’s children, and Satan, to continue their misguided and destructive rule.
But only because He did not give up on humanity; in love He decided to restore them.
God works through sinful humans, without violating their free will, to make things right.
He provides a new Adam, a new Ruler, Who does not surrender Himself to satan’s lies.
Jesus beats Satan and sin by staying true to God to the very end.
He is finally the Adam in God’s image and likeness Who rightfully rules God’s world.
Jesus Christ, as Adam, restores God’s ‘very good’ kingdom (Genesis 1:26-31)
And so, even when humans rebelled, and Satan usurped their authority, God’s dominion prevailed.
No matter how bad, how messy, how evil this world becomes, God remains God.
And Jesus remains Lord, and His kingdom is established, and will endure through all generations!

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I am so thankful that You are in charge. You are gracious and compassionate, and no one can dethrone You. Thank You for restoring God’s kingdom, and for allowing me to be a part of it!

    Observations/Application
    My God is great!
I just finished reading Job 38/39 where the Lord speaks to Job and who can fathom all the mysteries of the creation. My God is great and worthy of praise. This needs to told to each generation – the majesty of our Lord God and what He has done and is doing each day. All is in His hand. He is in charge. He is in control.
And I need to walk with Him each day serving Him in all I do and say. I need to walk with my risen Saviour always. Always.

    My God is so great,
    so strong and so mighty!
There’s nothing my God cannot do! (clap, clap)
The mountains are his, the rivers are his,
the stars are his handiwork too.
    My God is so great,
    so strong and so mighty!
There’s nothing my God cannot do! (clap, clap)

think about it!

The true Christian conception of property is stewardship; the holding of the gifts of God for His service, and subject to His direction, and for His glory.
