Pursue justice!

Posted on July 12, 2015July 11, 2015 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 140
“I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy.” (Psalm 140:12)
This is a victim’s prayer, their pain and fear overflowing in desperation.
Their prayer is for justice, for God to take up their cause.
When I hear of ongoing suffering and misery in the world, I get agitated.
If there is no God, then there is little hope for justice for most victims.
If God is unjust or uncaring, then there is little hope for anyone.
I know… I know deep down inside, I know that I know that I know…
That the Lord secures justice for all, and upholds the cause of the needy.
I wish He would do it sooner rather than later.
His plan is not to change things right away, but it will change one day!
When Jesus finishes His work, and ushers in the new age.
Until that day we join in the prayer for justice.
And we join in the work of justice because…
I know that Jesus’ followers seek justice for the poor and uphold the cause of the needy!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, open my eyes to see the poor and needy. Open my eyes to see You standing with them. Open my eyes to see how I am part of the problem. Open my eyes to see how I can help.

    Observations/Application
At all times I need to serve the living God. At all times I must praise Him. At all times I must come to Him in prayer. Ar all times I must give Him thanks. Thanksgiving. Thanksliving. Even when the going gets tough. At all times I must commune with God.
The Lord reigns. My God reigns. He upholds the Way. Live in the Way now and forevermore. The Lord God loves it when His children at all times live as His people with integrity.

In the mountains of joy, in the valley of tears
I will love you, I will trust you
When the flame’s burning bright, when I’m weary and dry
I will love you, I will trust you
You are my strength and you are my song giving me hope and guiding me on

    (chorus)
At all times I will sing of your greatness
At all times I will sing of your love
At all times I will sing of your faithfulness
For your goodness remains and your love is the same at all times

When your guidance is clear, when I can’t see ahead
I will love you, I will trust you
In the summer of life, in the soul’s darkest night
I will love you, I will trust you

think about it!

We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.
