miracle of life

Posted on October 2, 2008October 2, 2008 by Norm

As we reflect on the creation of humanity (reading Genesis 2), we are also reminded of the miracle of life. Watch this video with wonder, joy… and sadness, that people could actually deny the precious life of these unborn children. May God have mercy!

Its worth reading the words of Psalm 139 again,
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

(Psalm 139:13-18)

I agree with you Jill. I share your concern for the hurting and vulnerable who feel they have no choice. My struggle is for those who advocate and promote abortion as if it were a simple, easy thing. The men who refuse to use birth control, then refuse to accept responsibility for their offspring. The abortion industry who counsel for abortion at most stages of pregnancy, but deny that there is any trauma or scars for those who have the abortion. For those who use it for their political agenda, without regard for any of the persons involved (ask “Roe” in Roe vs Wade, she will tell you).

Yes, we need to love them all, the abusers and the abused, the victimizers and the victims, the pre-birth and post-birth handicapped, the unborn and the born (sp?). But this just goes to show how complicated it gets, and how much we need God’s help. I know from experience how hard it is to love someone who sexually molests a young girl. Love them, YES, judge them, NO. But as much as possible, we must not enable them.

Thanks for sharing, and thanks for your honesty. Lord, give us hearts that really care!

I think I sounded a bit cranky in the above email.
    I appologize.
My heart is full with hurting people at the moment. People who need God with skin on… to love them to him….
I pray for more of us Christ Followers to chose to love the complicated people. Yes it is hard sometimes but when we ask God He enables us to do it and it is so worth it.

    This is amazing!

Advocating for the unborn is not enough.

Who is helping these single moms and families with handicapped children? These children are often neglected , families with a handicapped child often fall apart because they don’t get support.

If you don’t have a special needs person in your life then your are missing out on something incredible… and so are they.
