July 10 — Acts 9:1-19a

Posted on July 9, 2007November 8, 2023 by Norm

SCRIPTURE: Acts 9:1-19a

OBSERVATION:
Once again we see the Lord at work in the world, and bringing His servants into the process. The Lord reveals Himself in a variety of ways, and not always through the church, the Bible. He is the message and the messenger (the Word of God), and He uses a variety of ways to communicate, directly or indirectly. Ananias’ task is just to be available and obedient as the Lord leads Him.

APPLICATION:
We should be less eager to resist or judge the enemies of the gospel, and more open to praying for their conversion, serving them in grace to show the way. The Lord is at work in the world around us, revealing Himself directly or indirectly even to the most unlikely candidates. Maybe our prayers should not be ‘Lord stop them’ but ‘Lord convert them’.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to not reject and resist my enemies, but to make myself available to them as Your servant, trusting that You are revealing Yourself to them, whether I see it or not. Amen.

think about it!

In an effort to get the work of the Lord done we often lose contact with the Lord of the work and quite literally wear our people out as well.
